TRAINING · QUESTIONS

Deciding with clarity is part of the path.

Essential answers without confusing independent non-degree training, university degrees and automatic authorisation to practise clinically.

Information

Is the training recognised by MEC?

Psychoanalysis is offered in Brazil through an independent, non-degree training framework. The course is neither an undergraduate nor a postgraduate programme regulated by Brazil’s Ministry of Education (MEC).

How long does it take?

The path is designed for completion in 12 to 24 months, with 1,600 hours, 57 modules and fulfilment of all mandatory activities.

Is it entirely online?

Yes. Classes, meetings, groups and academic activities take place online.

Do I need a university degree?

No. Entry requires age 18 or over, completed upper-secondary education and commitment to the path and its professional boundaries.

May I begin seeing patients immediately?

No. Practice depends on theoretical foundations, personal analysis, supervision, study group, monitored training practice and institutional criteria.

Is Jung part of the foundation?

No. The foundation is psychoanalytic, with Freud and authors such as Winnicott, Lacan, Ferenczi, Klein and Minerbo. Jung may appear only in a comparative context.
